Radon bath

"Radon is element number 222, a noble gas. Its effects are produced by the alpha radiation it emits. The gaseous radon dissolves mainly in water. As a fat soluble substance it dissolves in fat with good blood supply, in endocrine glands and in bone marrow. Analgesic, improves capillarization, increases secretion of uric acid, activates the production of adrenaline, reduces DNA synthesis, stimulates DNA repair, enhances natural killer cell activity and enhances gonadal function. After 20 minutes of bathing the concentration of activity in the skin is 20-30% of the concentration in the bathing water. Radon is released through the skin and lungs, a portion of it (approximately 0.5%), however, remains in the fat. The radiation's range is 4 cm in air with low penetrating ability, in tissues it is 0.04 mm, meaning a penetration of 1-2 cell layers, then deceleration and transmitting high energy.Radon intake happens through the skin and the lungs. When bathing in water containing radon the decay products of the radon can be disregarded as they are unable to leave the water and the skin absorbs only the radon from the water. In our country treatment in healing waters containing radon is widespread.Beneficial for musculoskeletal disorders."
