A GELLÉRT GYÓGYFÜRDŐ TÖRTÉNETE

Gellért Fürdő a gyógyfürdő területén feltörő "csodahatású" forrásokról már a XV. századból is találunk feljegyzéseket. A későbbiekben a törökök is kedvelték, mivel nagyobb és forróbb vizű volt, mint a korabeli budai fürdők. A XVII. században Sárosfürdőnek nevezték a medencék fenekén leülepedett, a forrásvízzel feltörő finom forrásiszap miatt.
A világszerte ismert és a külföldiek által igen kedvelt, szecessziós stílusban épült Gellért Gyógyfürdő és Szálló 1918-ban nyitotta meg kapuit, majd 1927-ben a hullám strandfürdővel és 1934-ben a pezsgőfürdővel bővült. A napjainkban végzett korszerűsítések során az uszodában levő ülőmedence és a kültéri ülőmedence megújult: korszerű vízszűrő-forgató berendezélssel lettek ellátva.
Ma a Gellért Gyógyfürdőben szinte valamennyi gyógyszolgáltatás igénybe vehető. Komplex gyógyfürdőellátást biztosító részleggel (nappali kórház), inhalatóriummal rendelkezik.
